SwimRight Swimming Lessons
Information for new starters.
Welcome to our learn-to-swim program, where we cater to all levels, from beginners to advanced swimmers, with a special focus on inclusion and support for individuals with special educational needs (SEN) and diverse abilities. Our commitment to inclusion extends to our Parent & Baby classes, providing a nurturing environment for both parents and children to bond and learn the joys of swimming together.
Our venue has been carefully selected to ensure convenience and comfort for all families, featuring ample parking, spacious changing rooms with accessibility options, and pools maintained at a comfortable 31 degrees temperature with varying sizes to accommodate different skill levels and group sizes. We prioritise safety and accessibility, ensuring that everyone can enjoy the benefits of learning to swim in a welcoming and supportive environment.

Equipment.
Floats, arm floats/bands, noodles, toys etc are all provided. Swimmers will need to bring their own goggles and swimming hats if they are required.
Changing room policy.
There are male and female changing rooms at the facility and everyone is welcome to use the changing rooms. As our teachers are in the water with the children, there is no need for parents to be poolside. A viewing gallery is available for parents.
For the safeguarding of children, SwimRight Swim Lessons follow the guidelines set out by Swim England:
Parents should not be in the changing room while their swimmers are changing, unless the swimmer is of an age where help is required from parents of the swimmer or requires additional specific assistance. This generally is 7 years of age. In such circumstances the parent must be the same gender as the child, unless the facility has family changing facilities or a ‘ mixed changing village’.
At SwimRight we are aware that this is not always feasible, as often there are mums who bring their sons and dads who bring their daughters to swimming lessons. Often children younger than 7 are able to change themselves but for those that need assistance, our policy is that the sex of the changing room that should be used when a child needs help in getting changed is of the same sex as the parent/adult that is helping i.e. A mum helping her son should be using the female changing rooms and a dad helping his daughter should be using the male changing rooms.
For the safeguarding of children we also ask that children do not get changed on poolside or in the viewing gallery in front of others.
